Longing for Home

The wind blows
everywhere
she isn't.

Blazing shoes light up the sidewalk.

She weaves
in and out amongst blind stalkers
headed for eternity

inside the bank
down the produce aisle
arriving home

greets the neighbor dogs
Kia, Chinoa, McGuire

thinks about missing the rain
there's a door
at the end of the walkway

Open it down
several stairs and across

the kitchen into a mirror
over the bathroom sink
Look up

into the glass
into the eyes

It's a strange little world out there
       Denver.
